"THE FEAR I FEAR"
"
..songs that could easily make Melady Ireland's next big daytime radio star
..these are chart hits in the making." (Hot Press)
Accomplished musician and writer Fiona Melady first appeared on the music scene as keyboard player in acclaimed rock band TURN playing alongside her brother Ian.
Over the last couple of years Fiona has been concentrating on her own career writing, arranging and recording her debut album THE FEAR I FEAR.
The album is largely piano / keyboard driven it slides between brooding, soulful tracks with strong dynamics, to pure pop! Recorded in Jam Studios, Exchequer Studios and Experimental Studios, Fiona really had the best of the best working with her on this album. Musicians include Ian Melady and Paul Noonan (Drums), Martin Quinn, Steve Shannon and John Colbert (Bass), Ciaran Kavanagh and Andy Coogan (Guitar), Mamisa (Strings). Recording and engineering credits go to Martin Quinn, Phil Hayes, Steve Shannon and Fergal Davis.
"
.a mix of smokey 80's synth-chic and edgy jazz lounge wrap a voice that's true with cool assurance" (Eamon Carr)
A seasoned live performer Fiona has also been travelling the country previewing tracks in her own shows as well as supporting many great acts including Paddy Casey, Jack L, The Blizzards, Gemma Hayes and Declan O Rourke.
"
.one of the most promising and strong songs I've heard in a while" (Jon Richards Galway Bay FM of "The Fear I Fear" single)
Fiona's voice may sound familiar - she was the voice of the Bulmers/Magners Christmas TV ad campaign 2007/8 singing a cover of "Apple Tree".
